Hi everyone, having recently had a small fire under the bonnet, please keep a fire extinguisher close to hand . The feeling of helplessness when this happens is flabbergasting ! With these cars almost 50 years old in cases, fires and breakdowns are more likely to happen. Extinguishers are relatively cheap, and could preserve your pride and joy for a lot longer ! If I had been half way down the M1 the whole car would have been lost 'Elvis' would definitely have left the building...forever. As it is, a spell in 'handbrake hotel' will have him as good as new after a winter break. Agreed valuations are also a must !!!... hope this gentle advice gets you rushing to buy an extinguisher !!!   Safe motoring to you all !........ Regards,  Richard
